Payment Policy

Orders are complete and will go into production ONLY once full payment is met or payment terms are agreed upon. Payment can be made via credit or debit card, check, or PayPal.

Returns & Refunds

• If an order is cancelled prior to going into production, the payment will be refunded with the exception of the credit card processing fee and a 10% cancellation fee.
• If an order is cancelled after going into production, the payment will be refunded with the exception of the credit card processing fee and a 25% restocking fee.

Shipping Policy

We ship all packages via USPS Priority, UPS, or FedEx. Once your item has shipped, you will receive an order confirmation as well as tracking information. We are not responsible for and cannot control transit time, nor can we locate lost packages. To track or recover a lost package, please contact your postal carrier or delivery service. If your order is returned to us, you will be responsible for the reshipment cost.

If your order arrives damaged, please email photos of the broken item, label, and packaging to hello@southernlightselectric.com. DO NOT discard packaging materials, as they may be needed during the insurance process. Please see the DAMAGES section for our policies on replacing broken or damaged items.

DAMAGES

Damages must be documented and reported within 10 business days of receipt. SLE is not responsible for repair or replacement of damages reported after this time. If damage has occurred in shipping, please retain ALL packaging materials. Note visible damage with the carrier where possible and report it to us within 10 business days. Please notify the carrier as soon as possible about any apparent damage to file a claim report, and retain all packaging materials.

SAFETY

All of our hardwired fixtures are UL listed in North America for damp location use. Our desk lamps and any plug-in fixtures are not UL listed as standard, but can be certified upon request.

International Customers

Shipping. All taxes, duties, and customs fees are the responsibility of the purchaser. SLE is not responsible for shipping delays once the order leaves the US.

Electrical Requirements. All fixtures are rated for 120V and listed for damp locations.

INSTALLATION

All hardwired fixtures come with the necessary hardware for installation. Installation by a licensed electrician is highly recommended.

One-Year Limited Warranty

Southern Lights Electric, LLC ("SLE"), Nashville, Tennessee, warrants every fixture we build to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of delivery, to the original purchaser.

What we'll do. If a fixture or component fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship within the warranty period, SLE will, at our option, repair or replace the defective component or fixture at no charge. This is your exclusive remedy under this warranty. This warranty does not cover the cost of removal, installation, or reinstallation, or any electrician's labor.

What this warranty covers. Defects in the fixture as built — including sockets, wiring, hardware, and structural components — under normal residential or commercial use, when the fixture is installed by a licensed electrician in accordance with local electrical code and the fixture's location rating.

What this warranty does not cover. Damage from improper installation, misuse, accident, or modification of the fixture; installation of a fixture in a location that exceeds its rating (for example, a damp-rated fixture installed in a wet location); light bulbs; normal wear; and the natural aging of finishes. Our unlacquered brass and living finishes are meant to patina — changes in finish color and character over time are a feature of the material, not a defect.

How to make a claim. Email hello@southernlightselectric.com with your name, proof of purchase, a description of the issue, and photos of the fixture. We'll respond with next steps, which may include returning the fixture or component to our Nashville workshop. Please don't ship anything back without hearing from us first.

Legal terms. Any implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the one-year term of this warranty. SLE is not liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from any defect. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Terms and Conditions of Southern Lights Electric, LLC

1. Introduction

1.1 These terms and conditions ("Agreement") govern the use of Southern Lights Electric, LLC's products and services. By purchasing and using our lighting products, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

2. Warranty

2.1 Warranty terms are set out in the One-Year Limited Warranty above, which is incorporated into this Agreement.

2.2 Refunds will not be provided for warranty claims. Repair or replacement, as described in the One-Year Limited Warranty, is the sole remedy available to customers for valid warranty claims.

3. Limitations of Liability

3.1 Southern Lights Electric, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use its lighting products.

3.2 Southern Lights Electric, LLC's liability for any claim arising out of or related to this Agreement or the use of its lighting products shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific product giving rise to the claim.

4. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

4.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Tennessee, United States.

4.2 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the state of Tennessee.

5. Miscellaneous

5.1 This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between Southern Lights Electric, LLC and the customer regarding the use of its products and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.

5.2 Southern Lights Electric, LLC reserves the right to modify or amend this Agreement at any time. Any such modifications or amendments will be effective upon posting on the company's website or providing notice to customers.
