How to install your light
Just a few quick steps. Most installations take under 30 minutes. Read all instructions once before starting.
Unbox the fixture
Carefully remove your fixture from its outer shipping carton. Set the box aside until installation is complete in case of a return.

Unwrap the bubble bag
Slide the fixture out of its bubble bag. Inspect for any shipping damage before continuing.
Set hardware aside
Remove the included hardware bag and place it somewhere safe and visible.

Tools needed
Gather these before you start so you're not running for tools mid-install.
-
Flathead screwdriver
-
Phillips screwdriver
-
Wire strippers
-
Wire nuts
-
Electrical tester / voltage meter
Turn off breaker
Switch off the circuit breaker for this fixture before doing anything else. Verify with a non-contact voltage tester.
Separate crossbar from canopy
Separate the crossbar from the fixture canopy. Set the fixture aside on a clean, safe surface.
Install crossbar on junction box
Install the crossbar on the junction box using the included short or long #6-32 screws — choose the length based on the depth of your wall surface material. Ensure the crossbar sits flush and level against the wall.

Connect the wires
Connect white to white, black to black, and ground to ground house wire with wire nuts (not included). Push the wires back inside the junction box.

Attach canopy to crossbar
Attach the canopy to the crossbar with the included #8-32 × 0.5" brass flathead screws.

Restore power and test
Turn the breaker back on and test the fixture. If anything seems off — flickering, no light, warm canopy — switch power back off and contact a licensed electrician.
Cleaning & Care Instructions
Our fixtures are made with solid brass and hand-applied finishes. Small variations in tone, texture, and patina are part of the character of the material and should be expected. To preserve the finish, always clean gently and avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or polishing compounds unless specifically noted.
Unlacquered Brass Finishes
Includes: Natural Brass & Aged Brass
Unlacquered brass is a living finish. It is not sealed, which means it will naturally darken, patina, and change over time through exposure to air, moisture, oils from hands, and the environment around it. This evolution is intentional and part of the beauty of the material.
Routine Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust.
- For light cleaning, gently wipe with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water, then dry immediately with a clean cloth.
- Avoid letting water sit on the surface.
What to Avoid
Do not use:
- Brass polish
- Chemical cleaners
- Vinegar, lemon juice, ammonia, or acidic cleaners
- Abrasive pads or scouring sponges
- Paper towels, which may scratch the surface
- Household disinfecting sprays
Notes on Patina
- Natural Brass will gradually deepen in color and develop a warm, aged appearance.
- Aged Brass has already been hand-darkened, but it will continue to shift subtly over time.
- Fingerprints and handling marks may appear, especially early on. These usually soften into the overall patina with time.
Lacquered Finishes
Includes: Black Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze & Nickel
Our lacquered finishes have a protective clear coating over the metal surface. This coating helps preserve the finish and slows natural oxidation. These finishes should be cleaned gently to avoid scratching or damaging the lacquer.
Routine Cleaning
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
- For occasional cleaning, use a soft cloth dampened with water or a very mild soap-and-water solution.
- Wipe gently, then dry immediately with a clean, soft cloth.
What to Avoid
Do not use:
- Metal polish
- Solvents or chemical cleaners
- Alcohol-based cleaners
- Ammonia or glass cleaner
- Abrasive pads
- Magic erasers
- Rough cloths or paper towels
Important Care Notes
- Do not polish lacquered finishes. Polishing can damage or remove the protective coating.
- If the lacquer is scratched or worn through, the exposed metal beneath may begin to patina naturally.
- Oil Rubbed Bronze and Black Brass may have subtle warm highlights or hand-applied variation. This is part of the finish and should not be treated as a defect.
Powdercoat Finishes
Powdercoat finishes are durable painted finishes applied over the metal surface. They are designed to be stable and easy to maintain, but they should still be cleaned with care to avoid dulling, scratching, or chipping the surface.
Routine Cleaning
- Dust with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
- For smudges or fingerprints, wipe gently with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed.
- Dry immediately with a clean cloth.
What to Avoid
Do not use:
- Abrasive cleaners
- Scouring pads
- Solvents
- Acetone
- Paint thinner
- Harsh degreasers
- Magic erasers
- Scrapers or sharp tools
Important Care Notes
- Avoid impact from hard objects, which can chip the finish.
- Do not attempt to polish powdercoat finishes.
- For fixtures in high-touch areas, regular gentle dusting is the best way to keep the finish looking clean.
General Fixture Care
- Turn off power before cleaning.
- Allow bulbs and fixture surfaces to cool before handling.
- Never spray cleaner directly onto the fixture.
- Do not allow moisture to enter sockets, wiring areas, or electrical components.
- Use only soft, clean cloths.
- For glass shades or diffusers, remove dust with a soft cloth and clean with a mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, not sprayed directly onto the fixture.
- When in doubt, use a dry microfiber cloth and avoid cleaners altogether.
