Baton 1 Surface Mount light fixture
A matte-white globe on a solid-brass cylinder and a precision-milled round backplate — keyless, hardwired, and about as simple as a light gets. The white globe offsets the metal, and the whole fixture sits close to the surface, so it reads as wall or ceiling sculpture as much as light. A dim-to-warm E26 LED is included — 500 lumens, warming from 2700K down to a candle-soft 1800K as you dim. Built and assembled in our Nashville workshop.

The simplest light we could make.
Baton I is the most beautiful version of a keyless design we could do — and we tried for a while. A matte-white globe sits on a hand-spun brass cylinder and a precision-milled round backplate; there's no switch on the socket and no visible hardware, just the globe, the metal, and the wall or ceiling behind it. Mounted either way, it stays close and low-profile — a 5″ backplate, projecting 6.3″ — so it belongs to the architecture rather than hanging off it. Good for entries, baths, kitchens, and corridors that want soft, even light from a quiet fixture.
Construction is solid brass with a hand-applied finish; powdercoat finishes are built on machined steel. The lamp is a dim-to-warm E26 LED — 6 watts, 500 lumens — included, user-replaceable, and dimmable on standard dimmers. As you dim it, the color warms from 2700K toward a candle-soft 1800K. UL listed for dry and damp locations. Built and assembled in our Nashville workshop.

Finishes
Sec. 03 — Eight standard, applied by handUnlacquered brass finishes are living — they darken and warm with age, faster where hands touch them. Powdercoat finishes stay put. Not sure on screen? Order finish samples before you commit; trade members get a sample set on the house.

Super prompt with communication and always clear about timelines. Their trade program is solid, and we love their finishes — the unlacquered aged brass especially. Patrick Di Rito — Chuck Marie Studio
